Panther Creek State Park

The Picnic Area 2 and Smallman Shelter restrooms are currently closed due to plumbing repair needs. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to repair and reopen the restrooms as quickly as possible. The restrooms adjacent to the Spoone Shelter, playground, and visitor center remain open to the public. 

The Panther Creek State Park pool will not reopen as of Summer, 2022. Unfortunately, the pool is 36 years old, visitation is down, lake swimming opportunities exist, and a public splash pad is five miles away. Due to these factors, Tennessee State Parks can no longer justify to Tennessee taxpayers the costs associated with keeping this pool in operation. However, we are excited to have the opportunity to invest in a more fiscally responsible outdoor recreation option Panther Creek State Park that would provide year-round benefits.

Panther Creek State Park offers many beautiful open space venues to choose from for your next wedding ceremony, reception, family reunion, or company event. All special events require a facility use agreement to be completed and approved by the Park Manager prior to the date of your event. Please call 423-587-7046 to book your event!

Panther Creek Observation Deck

The Deck is a large open area that is perfect for a larger wedding. With Panther Creek running behind it, this space is absolutely stunning. There is plenty of space to set up chairs or hay bales for your guests. This location is a great option for you to say I do! The Deck accommodates weddings up to 100 guests.

The Heart at Panther Creek

The Heart is located at the highest point of Panther Creek Park Road. This heart-shaped space makes for a special wedding atmosphere for you and your loved one to celebrate joining lives. This area is ideal for 20-25 people.

Recreation Field at Panther Creek

The Panther Creek Recreation Field is the perfect space for any outdoor event--weddings, company events, or family reunions! This field can hold up to 2,000 people. There are a limited number of restrooms located nearby and ample parking for large events.

Panther Creek Overlook

The Overlook has a breathtaking view of Cherokee Lake. A wooded observation deck offers you and your family a perfect place to celebrate your joyous commitment. The Overlook only allows for 15 guests to stand on the deck at one time, but there is some area around it to accommodate other guests. This area is ideal for weddings up to 30 people.
