Norris Dam State Park

The east campground will be closed from March 27-April 7th due to bathhouse renovations. Self-contained campers are welcome to make reservations but will not have access to restrooms or showers. The west campground will be open for overnight accommodations during this time.

The Norris Dam State Park pool will not reopen as of Summer, 2022. Unfortunately, the pool is 45 years old, visitation is down 29 percent. Due to these factors, Tennessee State Parks can no longer justify to Tennessee taxpayers the costs associated with keeping this pool in operation. However, we are excited to have the opportunity to invest in a more fiscally responsible outdoor recreation option Norris Dam State Park that would provide year-round benefits.

Norris Dam State Park offers two picnic pavilions in the beautiful historic district near Norris Lake. Both pavilions have electricity and are ideal for your next family gathering or celebration.

SHELTER 1

This Rustic-style shelter was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp and features handmade elements with exposed wood trusses and stone that are indigenous to this area. This quaint historic shelter, located in a beautiful wooded setting,  accommodates 25 park guests. It features a large charcoal grill and is conveniently located next to an accessible playground and restrooms.

SHELTER 2

This spacious shelter, constructed of wood and natural stone, can accommodate up to 80 park guests. It offers picnic tables, charcoal grills, and an accessible playground and restrooms. There is an additional playground, just across the road from Shelter 2.  

Reservations may be made online or by calling the park. Half-day rentals are available by calling the park only. Picnic shelters or pavilions may be reserved online up to one year in advance with a paid reservation fee. There is a $5 cancellation fee for picnic shelter or pavilion reservations canceled eight days or more in advance of the reserved date. Reservations canceled seven days or less in advance of the reserved date forfeit all paid fees.
