It too is known for great sport fishing and numerous local and national fishing tournaments. The tailwaters provide excellent fishing for Sauger (winter/spring), White and Yellow Bass (spring), Striped Bass (spring through fall) and catfish year round. The river is located in three states, so check license requirements. Fishing is productive from the bank and by boat.
