Henry Horton State Park

Golfing

Henry Horton was the first state park golf course to be built in what would later become the Tennessee Golf Trail. Opened in the early 1960s, the Buford Ellington championship golf course at Henry Horton State Park is one of the finest courses in the state of Tennessee. This challenging course is heavily treed with hardwoods and measures 5,625 yards from the Forward tees and 7,060 yards from the Championship tees. The fairways are generous in width, the greens larger than average and four sets of tees are available to accommodate every skill level. The greens have been re-contoured and replaced with Champion Ultradwarf Bermuda and have been extremely well received.
