Savage Gulf State Park offers rock climbing and rappelling opportunities at Stone Door. Permits are required for each person climbing and are available online.

From peaceful walks through a meadow full of wildflowers to breathtaking overlooks of the Cumberland Plateau, Savage Gulf is a wondrous hiking destination featuring waterfalls, vistas, historical areas, and some with old-growth trees.

Picnicking
Savage Gulf is a perfect haven for those wishing to enjoy a meal outside. Picnic tables are available throughout the park and a pavilion is available for rent.

Swimming
Savage Gulf offers numerous opportunities to escape the heat of summer among waterfalls, forest canopies, and cold creek waters.

For Educators
Savage Gulf State Park offers accessible, experiential educational opportunities to both engage and educate students. Choose from varied park programs or work with a Ranger to create a program that meets the Tennessee academic standards in your classroom.
