We want as many of those Tennessee residents as possible to experience the benefits of spending time in nature at their state parks. That’s why, in addition to free admission for all visitors, we offer a 10% Tennessee Resident Discount to make spending the night outdoors even more affordable. To help you start planning your affordable staycation, we’ve compiled a list of five state parks with overnight stays that we think you’ll love.
Paris Landing State Park
Location: West TN | Paris, TN

The Park: Located near Land Between the Lakes in upper west Tennessee, Paris Landing State Park is ideal for a relaxing getaway by the water. Enjoy hiking, fishing, boating, paddling, golfing, and on-site dining options. Fill your stay with non-stop activities or kick back by the lake with a good book and cold drink.
The Lodge: The 91-room Lodge at Paris Landing sits on the shores of Kentucky Lake near Land Between the Lakes. You’ll enjoy lakefront guestrooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, an outdoor pool, and two lakeside fire pits with Adirondack-style chairs.
The Cabins: Choose between a spacious three-bedroom cabin on the lake or a cozy one-room camping cabin with the bare necessities.
The Campground: The park offers 38 well-shaded campsites with water and electric hookups for RVs and tents. There is also a primitive tent-only campground.
Chickasaw State Park
Location: West TN | Henderson, TN

The Park: If rest and relaxation are on the books for your next vacation, look no further than Chickasaw State Park. The park offers a layout perfect for families with playgrounds, a swimming beach, and horseback riding.
The Cabins: The cabins sit on a quiet loop near the shores of Lake Placid—a small sparkling lake with great fishing and paddling opportunities. The restored historic cabins at the park offer top-of-the-line appliances and finishings for a comfortable stay, and each offers a patio or deck with lake views.
The Campground: The park offers RV campsites up to 120 feet, wrangler sites for RV travelers with horses, and lakefront tent sites.
Cumberland Mountain State Park
Location: Middle TN | Crossville, TN
Accommodations: RV and Tent Camping | Cabins

The Park: Plenty of outdoor recreation and comforts like an on-site restaurant are available within Cumberland Mountain State Park. Byrd Lake offers fishing and paddling rentals, and an 18-hole golf course and four miles of mountain bike trails await the adventurous.
The Cabins: The park offers a variety of cabin types, from recently restored historic cabins to deluxe three-bedroom cabins.
The Campground: The campground offers 145 tent and RV sites equipped with water and electric hookups.
Montgomery Bell State Park
Location: Middle TN | Burns, TN

The Park: Located 40 minutes west of downtown Nashville, Montgomery Bell State Park is a natural oasis spanning over 3,000 acres of woods and lakes. Explore the clear streams that run through the park, admire the spillway at sunset, and grab drinks on the restaurant’s outdoor patio.
The Lodge: The 117-room hotel sits on the banks of Lake Acorn, featuring modern rooms and a full-service restaurant and bar. Relax by the outdoor pool or kick back with a craft beer in the lounge after a day spent vacationing outdoors.
The Cabins: Outdoor fireplaces, easy lake access, and dining within walking distance are just a few things that make the cabins at Montgomery Bell some of the most sought-after in the state. Cabin guests also receive complimentary access to the lodge pool.
The Campground: Along a peaceful stream, the campground offers RV sites with water and electric hookups, 40 of which offer full hookups, and 22 tent-only campsites without water or electricity.
Roan Mountain State Park
Location: East TN | Roan, TN

The Park: Roan Mountain State Park is just a short drive from the top of the mountain, where you’ll find 360-degree views rivaling the Smokies. During spring and summer, enjoy thick blooms of Rhododendrons, vibrant wildflowers, and lush green meadows. In the winter, ski across snow-covered mountain tops and get cozy next to the wood-burning stove.
The Cabins: The park offers 30 comfortable cabins with a front porch, rocking chairs, and a wood-burning stove. The cabins can sleep four to six people and offer one private bedroom and a loft with two beds.
The Campground: The campground at the park offers 106 sites for RV and tent. RV sites are equipped with water and electric hookups, and tent-only campsites are equipped with water. There are six bathrooms located throughout the campground and a centrally located playground.
Discount Details:
- Tennessee Resident Discount provides a 10% discount off the normal rate at most Tennessee State Park overnight accommodations.
- All Tennessee residents 18 and older with a valid state-issued photo ID qualify.
- A Tennessee resident must occupy the campsite, cabin, or lodge room in order to qualify.
- Guests must provide a current, valid state-issued photo ID that includes a valid Tennessee residence at the time of check-in for the discount to apply. Staff will not accept photocopies of the ID as proof of residency.
- Discount is available by phone, in person, or online at reserve.tnstateparks.com.
- Tennessee Resident Discount cannot be combined with other existing discounts, such as Active Military, 100% Disabled Veteran, Senior, Disabled, or Tennessee State Employee discounts.
- The discount only applies to campsites, cabins, and lodge rooms. This discount does not apply to group facilities, boat rentals, permits, etc.
- The discount does not apply to premium campsites. Some cabin exclusions may apply.

Tennesseans looking to take advantage of the discount can do so at reserve.tnstateparks.com. For cabins and campsites, at checkout click "Show Discounts" then select “Tennessee Resident Discount” to take advantage of the offer. For lodges, select the "TN Resident" price option before proceeding to checkout.
