Plant a Tree for the Future at 50K Tree Day

“Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” -Warren Buffett
Have you ever planted a tree? There’s something special about helping life take root. The presence of that tree forever changes the ground it inhabits and the way future generations experience that place.
With that in mind, we would like to invite you to participate in the second annual 50K Tree Day on February 27, 2016. The goal is to have people from all 95 counties in Tennessee plant 50,000 new trees.
Tennessee State Parks will have 33 pickup locations on Friday, February 26th, from 1pm to 6pm and Saturday, February 27th, from 8am to 10am local time. Individuals and small groups can register to pick up free bundles of bare-root seedlings, which can then be planted anywhere across the state. Several state parks are even hosting planting events. This is your chance- a “tree-mendous” opportunity- to plant a tree in a state park that visitors will enjoy for generations to come.
