5 Upcoming Races for Runners from Now Until the New Year

As the weather cools down, it is the perfect opportunity to dust off those racing shoes and check out one of these races! Tennessee State Parks is now offering Virtual Races, so you can log your miles from anywhere you are. These races provide a great way to stay connected to other runners, get some exercise, and find distance outdoors. Here are five upcoming races that you can register for today:

Rock Island Virtual 5 Miler - October 3-31, 2020

Rock Island State Park is bringing back the infamous 5 Miler in 2020, virtually! This event is open to all skill levels with multiple distance options for walking or running, or a combination of both. You can choose from a 1 mile “fun run,” a 5K, or the full 5 Miler. You can do this event at home on your treadmill, on the road, on your favorite trail, or at Rock Island State Park with the original 5 Miler route! Proceeds benefit ongoing projects at Rock Island State Park!

Virtual Creepy Crawl 2020 - October 24-31, 2020

Join us this spooky season for the Virtual Creepy Crawl 5K supporting Tennessee State Parks Run Club! No matter if it’s a haunted hike or a terrifying treadmill, you can participate anywhere you want! Get out with your family and dress up for this 5K race!

Ramble’s Recycle Run - November 14-21, 2020

Join us for America Recycling Day with Ramble’s Recycle Run! No matter if it’s on a trail or a treadmill, you can participate anywhere you want. Get out with your family and help Ramble learn how to recycle! A portion of the proceeds will go towards the Go Green initiative for Tennessee State Parks.

The Ugly Sweater Virtual Race - November 26-December 10, 2020

With race options from one mile up to a half marathon, you can proudly wear your ugliest sweater and walk or run your race on your own time anytime after Thanksgiving through December 12th. All proceeds from the race benefit the Harrison Bay Friends Group to support the mission of Harrison Bay State Park - we hope that you enjoy the warm fuzzy feelings from your favorite sweater and the fact that you are supporting a great cause!

Bell Ringer Trail Run - December 12, 2020

Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, TN will be hosting the 2020 Bell Ringer Trail Run on December 12, 2020! There are races for all skill levels - including a 50K, 25K, 15K, 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Friends of Montgomery Bell State Park. The mission of this group is to support the park, provide a quality place for families to recreate, and educate visitors on the importance of protection and preservation of the park.
