Hospitality Manager 2

Tennessee State Parks is hiring for a Hospitality Manager 2 for the restaurant, lodge, and conference center at Montgomery Bell State Park. The Hospitality Manager 2 works as a Director of Operations for the Lodge at Montgomery Bell State Park and is responsible for the overall planning, organizing and coordinating of the Lodge's daily operations, and provides leadership and direction while maximizing revenue opportunities and maintaining guest satisfaction levels to the standard of the Lodge at all times. The Director of Operations oversees service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, standards compliance and service and financial measurements. The Director of Operations oversees all aspects of the Lodge in the absence of the General Manager. 

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Responsible for the proper, efficient, and profitable functioning of the Lodge's day-to-day operations. 
  • Leads, directs and manages daily Lodge operations including, but not limited to Lodge budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, implementing and complying with all TDEC and Tennessee State Park policies and standards, coordinating capital improvements and property improvement plans, responding to guest inquiries and resolving concerns, and meeting participation and facilitation. 
  • Works with General Manager to develop strategic direction of the Lodge's market positioning. 
  • Manages lodge room accommodations through the use of Hospitality Management System (HMS), cabin accommodations through ltinio, and restaurant and banquet operations through use of Aloha. 
  • Depending on pace of business and staffing levels may be required to assist in any aspect of the day-to-day Lodge's operation.

Cook 2

Montgomery Bell State Park - Burns, TN

Tennessee State Parks is hiring for a Cook 2 for the restaurant, lodge, and conference center at Montgomery Bell State Park. This preferred service, full-time position, with benefits, is responsible preparing meals at The Forge Restaurant, which is in a large complex Inn and Conference Center facility with meeting rooms, conference rooms, sleeping inn rooms and villas at Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson County, Tennessee. The person selected for this position will perform a variety of cooking duties on an assigned shift and will direct kitchen workers in being responsible for the preparation of total meals.

  • Operate a variety of commercial grade kitchen appliances.
  • Bakes bread, rolls, cakes, pies and pastries.
  • Cleans, cuts, cooks (by roasting, broiling, baking and frying) meat, fish, poultry and vegetables.
  • Coaches and trains new or less experienced workers in the kitchen.
  • Provide appetizing meals in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Prioritize food prep tasks based on knowledge on the time needed to cook and prepare foods items.
  • Maintains a clean and functional kitchen that exceeds the Department of Health expectations.
  • Ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or source of information (multitasking).
  • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Works well with others
