  • $269 per person based on double occupancy, $309 single occupancy, all taxes and gratuities included.

Join State Naturalist Randy Hedgepath and Ranger Cara Alexander on a three-day, two-night exploration of some of our most beautiful state waterfalls. This outdoor adventure features the waterfalls at Fall Creek Falls State Park and the spectacular beauty of Savage Gulf. Focusing on the beauty and history of these majestic falls, the tours include legends and folklore, and other educational and interpretive programs unique to each location,

Fall Creek Falls and South Cumberland State Parks

Day 1, November 17


** A sturdy walking stick is recommended for the various hiking throughout the 3 days. For your convenience, you can find walking sticks available for purchase in the Fall Creek Falls gift shop located in the Inn lobby.

1:00 pm:   Meet Cara and Randy in the lobby at the Fall Creek Falls Inn to depart for the first part of the tour. We will take the short but steep Cable Trail to the base of Cane Creek Falls and walk to the Cane Creek Gorge Overlook on the Paw Paw Trail.

5:00 pm: Check in at the FCF Inn

6:00 pm: Meet the group in the Piney Conference Room for dinner followed by an informal picture show of waterfalls and fall colors by State Naturalist, Randy Hedgepath.

Day 2, November 18


7:00-8:00 am:  Meet for breakfast in the park restaurant at a group table

8:00 am: Depart for Savage Gulf Natural Area, where we will walk the easy 3 mile roundtrip trail to Savage Falls. After lunch at the Savage Gulf picnic area, we will depart for Foster Falls where we will see the falls and walk to a great overlook. Restrooms will be available. Good walking shoes and a backpack for personal items like water, camera, etc. are recommended. We will return to Fall Creek Falls at 5:00 pm.

6:00 pm: Dinner in the Piney Room followed by an informal program.

Day 3, November 19


7:30-8:30 am:  Meet for group breakfast and check out of your rooms

8:30 am: Depart for a tour of the falls and overlooks of Fall Creek Falls State Park. The tour will conclude by noon.

Note: Dinner will be from the restaurant buffet which the tour group will carry from the restaurant to the meeting room. Drinks will be set in the meeting room. Bar drinks will be available for guests for additional fees.
