Paris Landing hosts Film Screening - Civil War: The Untold Story

Join us for a sneak-peek screening of episode one of the Civil War: The Untold Story, a visually stunning five part documentary produced for public television by Great Divide Pictures. The series examines the war through the lens of the Western Theater, including critical yet lesser-known battles of Fort Henry, Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Vicksburg and Chickamauga. The event, hosted by General Ulysses S. Grant, as played by Curt Fields will be followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Chris Wheeler and the staff of Fort Donelson National Battlefield and Cemetery. Prior to the film, the Cumberland Winds, will perform songs of the Civil War era. Admission is free with seating limited to the first 150 people. The screening starts at 1 p.m. CT and will air on Nashville Public Television and WKNO Channel 10 Memphis in April. For more information visit www.nps.gov/fodo. Paris Landing hosts Spring Hike

Please meet ranger Williams at the hotel lobby to go on a short hike down through the picnic loop, hikers will be on the lookout for our returning song birds and other local wildlife. Please meet in the hotel lobby at 12 pm, since the trail is paved hikers of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend this short 1 mile hike. If you have dogs please feel free to bring them as long as you keep them leashed and under your control at all times. All hikers are advised to bring water and wear sturdy shoes.
