Old Stone Fort hosts Spring Hike

Mr. Jack B. Carman, noted Tennessee wildflower expert and author of Wildflowers of Tennessee, will be presenting a talk and wildflower walk at Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park on March 22nd in honor of Tennessee State Park’s Spring Hike for 2014. Mr. Carman will lead visitors in a discussion and interpretive hike through the White Trail at Old Stone Fort, noting the array of beautiful native wildflowers found throughout the park and across Tennessee. The wildflower talk will begin at 10 A.M at the Old Stone Fort Museum and will be followed by the walk at 11 A.M. Following the wildflower walk, Mr. Carman will be available for a book signing at the Old Stone Fort Museum. Copies of Mr. Carman’s work Wildflowers of Tennessee will also be available for purchase in the Old Stone Fort gift shop. The wildflower walk will be approximately 1.25 miles and its overall degree of difficulty is easy. All ages are welcome but please remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
