PUBLIC NOTICE: Due to being in the path of the Solar Eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21, Name of Park is expecting larger than usual visitation. If you plan to visit the park, we urge you to arrive early as roads may be congested. Please be aware that areas of the park may be closed at the discretion of park management and if the park reaches capacity, gates will be closed.
The park has approximately 23.5 miles of dirt mountain bike trail. The mountain bike trails are not in the main section of the park. The various trails differ in difficulty from easy to difficult.
Red: Beginner to Intermediate
Green and Yellow: Advanced with a lot of fall line trails.
Boating is allowed on all three lakes at Montgomery Bell State Park. No outboard motors are allowed on boats at any time on any of the lakes. A boat ramp is available on Lake Woodhaven.
Lake Acorn has summer boat rentals of paddle boats, canoes, kayaks and fishing boats. Private boats are allowed with a launch fee of $9, Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Mid-September through mid-May, no charge. Gasoline motors prohibited.
Lake Woodhaven (50-acre) provides fishing for bass, bream and catfish. All Black Bass caught must be immediately released unharmed. There is a slot limit on Largemouth Bass, no bass under 15 inches, or 18-22 inches may be harvested and only one bass over 22 inches may harvested per day. No size limit on crappie and creel limit is 30. Channel Catfish must be at least 14 inches and creel limit is 5. There are no size or creel limits on Bluegill and shell cracker (Redear).
The same restrictions for crappie, Channel Catfish, Bluegill and shell cracker apply to Lake Acorn (26 acre) with the following restriction: Largemouth Bass 15 inch limit. The same fish restrictions as stated for Lake Acorn apply to Creech Hollow Lake (17.5 acre).
The course was built in 1973 and then redesigned by designer Gary Roger Baird in 1988. The entire course is heavily wooded and features an abundance of wildlife such as deer, geese and wild turkey. Each year Montgomery Bell is host to The Dogwood Classic in the spring.

The swim beach on Lake Acorn is free and available to the public, Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. The park inn has an indoor and outdoor pool for inn and cabin guests only. There are no lifeguards on duty at the pools or at the swim beach. The pools and swim beach are swim at your own risk.
