Welcome to Standing Stone State Park! We hope you enjoy your visit. While you are with us, we invite you to join Seasonal Interpretive Ranger Russell Fulcher for some fun activities this park has to share.

Wednesday, July 27

10:00 am Tennessee Trees
What trees are common at Standing Stone and how do you identify them? Come to the Park Office for a short hike to find out. (1 hour)

3:00 pm Poison Plants
Learn what plants every camper should know to avoid! We will meet at the Park Office for a short interpretive walk on some of our poison plants. (1 hour)

7:00 pm Paper Plate Astronomy
Join us at the Rec center for an easy astronomy craft. Paper plates will be provided (30 minutes)

9:00 pm Night Sky
Meet in the field below Kelly Dam for a program on stars! We will learn some constellations and how to identify them. An alternative program on spiders will be held in the same location if conditions are bad. (30 minutes)

Thursday, July 28

8:00 pm Campfire Cobbler
Cobbler is the perfect camping dessert! Come to the Amphitheater to try some out. First come first served (1 hour)

Friday, July 29

10:00 am Survival Key Chains
We will meet at the rec hall for a short and easy craft. Come by and make key chains out of survival cord. (1 hour)

2:00 pm Snakes
Please meet at the Park Office for a brief program about the snakes you may encounter in Tennessee
and also get a chance to meet Elvis! (30 minutes)

5:00 pm Nature Games
Join us in the field below Kelly Dam for some nature themed field games on habitat and resources.
(30 minutes)

8:00 pm Campfire
Join us at Amphitheater, by the park office, for Ghost stories and Jack tails as we enjoy a campfire. Marshmallows are always welcome! (1 hour)

Saturday, July 30

9:00 am History Hike
Standing Stone is full of history! Come by the Volleyball Courts below the dam for a morning 2 mile hike as we learn about the areas past. (2 hours)

2:00 pm Standing Stone Skulls
How can you tell what an animal eats by looking at its skull? Join us at the Rec Hall for a presentation on skulls and bones and what we can learn from them. (1 hour)

5:00 pm Marble Games
Come to the Rec Hall to learn some of the marble games played at Standing Stone! Bring your best marble and a partner if you can! Marbles will be provided. (1 hour)

8:00 pm Moth Madness!
See what flies near the light as we catch and identify moths for National Moth Week. Bring bug spray and a flash light and meet us by the rec hall! (2 hours)

Sunday, July 31

08:00 am Sunrise Church Service
Hosted by Allon’s Baptist Church. Meet at the Amphitheater if sunny, or the Rec Hall if raining. (1 hour)
