Our parks offer many programs and outreach activities to help people connect with the outdoors. Here's a list of some of the things we offer:
Jr. Ranger Program
The Junior Ranger Program strives to give children a fresh look at the world around them! Whether it’s taking a hike or going for a swim, there many fun things to do at Tennessee’s State Parks that can help keep us happy and healthy!
NFL Play60 Program
Tennessee is the first state park system to participate in the NFL Play60 campaign, which features outreach into local schools and communities to engage children with messages and activities that promote outdoor experiences, the natural world, healthy lifestyles and fun.
Special Summer Programs
When you visit Tennessee State Parks, you’ll often see summer program schedules offered by our “SIR’s” or Seasonal Interpreter/Recreators. Interpreters are the employees responsible for planning, publicizing, and presenting the fun, interactive, and educational programs for which Tennessee State Parks are known.
Youth Running Program
The Middle School Run Club program is a pilot program funded by the Tennessee Department of Health. The program is providing the infrastructure and the opportunity to allow middle school age children to chance to enjoy State Parks in fun and healthy way.
